After blogging on Feasting Fort Collins for three years, The Scoop Blog Network was created April of 2012 with just five blogs. Over the course of (almost) two years, we’ve grown into an online media network of 12 blogs covering a range of topics, providing our readers with resources, a place for sharing opinions, and encouraging community conversation.
So, what are we doing with this? What’s our purpose and goal?
The Scoop Blog Network is developing hyper-local niche blog content to help residents discover lifestyle aspects of Fort Collins that is supported by business advertising by incorporating them as sponsors into community conversation, and hosting ticketed community events with our readers. Our ultimate goal is to expand into other cities across the nation.
We’re ready to start making that happen!
We have some big goals in 2014 to help us expand. First, we’re going to launch a new website that consolidates all of the blogs into one place, making it easier for readers to find content they care about (think of something like a local Huffington Post-type website). We’re also going to launch a network app that will help readers on the go find the posts, resources, and information that they need in an easier way.
We need a little funding to make this happen. Don’t worry, we’re not asking for your money! No, we’re asking for your votes. While it might be a long shot, we’re going to try to win the $25,000 it will take for this upgrade from the Fed-Ex Small Business Grant contest.
All you need to do is vote for us. You can even vote for us every day until the voting period ends on Sunday, February 23rd. So, please do! All it takes is a click. We’ll even give you high-fives if you share this with your friends and family so we get more votes. And we might even have a big community party if we win.
